Never fuck a capitalist. They refuse condoms because they don’t like protection for the workers.
never go down on a capitalist, they’ll let you do all the work and then insist they came solely through their own hard work & self-determination.

I don’t know if it’s the same deal with Downton as with Boardwalk Empire, where the charm of it kinda wears thin by the second or third episode, or that I’m just in a place in my head where I can’t really digest it right now. Regardless, scrapping it for now, and I may try and look into it down the line after this next TV season ends, I may not, whatever.
I ignored Once Upon a Time at first as I figured it was going to share some similarities with Grimm as they both sounded similar and debuted the same season. I also thought they would be switching between the different worlds in real-time and that it would get old quick. Turns out that all of the fantasy-world stuff was all backstory flashbacks, so I was wrong it pretty much any assumption I made about it. Much more whimsical and less reality-based than Grimm, and it walks a fine line of being family-friendly without being boring to your average viewer. Aside from some dodgy CG here and there, great design across the board, wonderful cast (Robert Carlyle steals every fucking scene he’s in), and DAT MUSIC.
WOW SURPRISE EDIT HOLY SHIT I DIDNT REALIZE DEEP SPACE NINE WAS 173 EPISODES FUCK. I’m gonna have to watch that shit slowly over time.
Guess it’s just you and me now, The Wire.

Bleh. I even stuck with TVD the /tv/-recommended amount of time and it still never really took off. I guess I can see the appeal, but a suburban True Blood without the sex, violence, or Southern charm just wasn’t doing it for me.
Think I’ll probably dig back into Downton, then OUaT, then DS9, and finally The Wire. Then I can stop reblogging this stupid post.

I thought I’d easily enjoy Merlin, seeing as how Colin Morgan was delightful on the one episode of Doctor Who he did, and Anthony Stewart Head has always been irresistible. Turned out bland dialogue and cheap set design proved me wrong. I know it doesn’t have the budget of Game of Thrones, but still…even just a change in lighting would have made the biggest difference in that show, and instead I could never really become immersed in it due to how phony a lot of shit looked.
Luther was a complete reversal from it, however. Knows its budget, good writing, and having Idris Elba always helps.
I’m almost dreading watching The Wire, since I predict one of two outcomes; either it doesn’t live up to the hype and I’m disappointed, or it does and I get depressed that it’s gone. Might save it for last.
